The good folks at Dinnerware are usually in the know on a variety of spaces primarily in and around downtown.

ArtFare
31-55 N. 6th Ave. (across from the Rondstadt Transit Center)

ArtFare occupies the buildings on 6th Avenue stretching from Pennington Avenue to Congress including storefronts #31-#55, and the upper floors of 55 N. 6th Avenue located is the historic Sears Executive Towers. ArtFare has long supported the local arts community through scholarships, grants, reduced-fee use, and in-kind donation of the spaces, services and equipment made available to artists and arts organizations which are undergoing difficult times, transitioning or newly emerging. ArtFare offers space to up-and-coming artists on an ability-to-pay basis, currently works in partnership with Providence Corporation and Global Education in hosting Tucson Academy of Leadership in Arts Middle School which provides arts curriculum with the assistance of local artists, who will serve as faculty along with teachers of more traditional core classes. Students work side-by-side with working artists at the sprawling ArtFare complex forming the Downtown Arts Corridor that altogether totals some 30,000 square feet. Big band, ballet, theater, culinary arts, film production and photography are among the artistic offerings.

Solar Culture Gallery

Solar Culture Gallery is located in a historic 3000 square foot turn of the century style Art Deco produce warehouse. There are seven working art studios on the main floor and basement at Solar Culture. If you have ever wondered about what is behind those giant walk-in freezer doors, they are private studio spaces that are rented by Tucson’s up and coming artists.

Sculpture Resource Center
640 N. Stone

Contact: (520) 260-6110 or The Sculpture Resource Center is over 5,000 square feet of multimedia art studio in an wood-beamed converted warehouse and outdoor work area, open to the public in downtown Tucson. The Sculpture Resource Center studio is home to a wide variety of artists ranging from beginners to master artists and sculptors, practicing in two and three-dimensional media. New members are now being accepted. Membership benefits include but are not limited to; studio space, equipment, and instruction in ceramics, stonecarving, blacksmithing, kiln formed glass, woodworking, welding, bronze casting, aluminum casting, mold making, etc.

The Historic Y

A vibrant, artistically and progressively oriented community and home to a variety of artists, architects, crafts-people and performing and healing arts professionals and organizations including ZUZI’s Theater and The Rogue Theatre, has available studio space ranging from 70 to 620 sq ft each.

Parasol Project

While Parasol Project does not offer artist studio space, it is available to host workshops, art shows in a gallery setting, rehearsals, community gatherings and as a venue for music, film screenings and performances. Check out their boutique offering locally handcrafted clothing and accessories, as well as their open sewing area, the Sew-Op. Look for the parasols and Christmas lights festooning the warehouse adjacent to Tooley’s in the Lost Barrio.

Rhythm Industry Performance Factory
